When you visit us for one of our assemblies, you can expect a warm welcome and an enriching period of worship together. Our primary focus is on God and in praising and honoring His name. Our purpose is not to impress people but to be impressed by all that He has done for us. It is the Bible that instructs us how to worship and Whom to worship, and our worship service is simply patterned after that of the first-century Christians (Acts 2:42). We join our voices in song, our thoughts in prayer, our minds in God’s word, and our memories in the sacrifice of our Lord.
The Lord’s Supper
Commonly known as communion, we partake of unleavened bread and fruit of the vine every Sunday to remember Christ’s death & sacrifice for our sins. (Matthew 26:26-30; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Congregational Singing
We sing together to praise our Lord and to teach and encourage one another. (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). This is done without instrumental accompaniment in keeping with Biblical authority.
Bible Preaching
Our local evangelist, or sometimes a guest speaker, will present the Bible in clear and understandable fashion to convince, rebuke, and exhort the listeners to greater and more committed faith and service to God. (2 Timothy 4:2)
Prayer
Prayer is an integral part of our worship. One of the men will lead the congregation in prayer to God. We join our thoughts in these prayers to offer thanksgiving, praise, and humble appeals for our needs and those of others. (1 Timothy 2:8)
Voluntary Contribution
In keeping with the Biblical pattern, we support the work of evangelists and the local church only through a voluntary contribution each Sunday. (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:5-8) We do not solicit money from our visitors, nor do we participate in other fund-raising activities to achieve our purposes.
